Mouthshut.com deleted my account within hours of posting this blog on their website !! Proof enough of the conspiracy between @mouthshut.com and #aegonreligare to cheat customers online.

Hello Everyone !!

I am a little saddened to write a negative blog at the beginning of my association with Mouthshut.com

I joined mouthshut.com a short while ago after receiving an invitation from Aegon Religare to write a review about my recent experience with them. However, when I tried to write a review about them I go the following message:

"You cannot write a review on this product until and unless you get an invite from this brand"

This message almost gave me shock as I tried to interpret the implications of one such feature being made available to brands on mouthshut.com !! This is an act of absolute misleading and cheating consumers on part of mouthshut.com. What is the trustworthiness of such a platform which does not give you freedom to post a review without the permission of the Brand concerned ???

On a close observation I noticed that Aegon Religare has the "maximum number of reviews" and more importantly "positive reviews" among all the insurance companies listed here. Instantly I could think of two things here: 1.) Aegon has taken an extra effort to get feedback from customers by sending them personalised invites to write reviews; quite understandably to generate a positive word of mouth for them online. 2.) The high number of positive reviews is obviously manipulated since a person with negative feedback or bad experience will not be sent and invite to write a review in the first place and even if someone does want to write a negative review he/she won't be allowed to do so by mouthshut.com, thanks to the unholy behind the scene alliance or PAID feature to restrict reviews only by invitation !!

This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. This is like exploiting an online platform to mislead consumers and in the process promote products and brand who may or may not be deserving !!

Hope Mouthshut and Aegon both take a note of this and have some ethics to correct the error.

On a second thought, don't know how many such brands will be using this restrictive feature of review by invite only to mislead consumers. Will mouthshut correct them all???? I wonder !!
